Threat ‘contained’ at Halifax Infirmary emergency department after ‘serious incident’ – Halifax
Nova Scotia’s health minister says the emergency department at the Halifax Infirmary was home to a “serious incident” Wednesday that required police intervention.
Michelle Thompson said in a statement the infirmary was subject to a “threat,” which has since been contained.

“I want everyone involved to know that I am thinking of them at this difficult time,” she said.
“I also want to reassure our healthcare and support staff at the Infirmary and across the province that we will continue working with our healthcare and union partners to make workplaces as safe as possible.”
Thompson did not reveal any further details, but was set to speak to reporters at 3:45 Atlantic.
